Managing acidosis in dairy herds

Consistent and high energy intakes are needed for high levels of production of milk solids by dairy herds.  When ruminants are fed a diet high in readily fermentable carbohydrates from grain, byproducts and highly digestible pasture, a condition known as rumen acidosis can occur.   Most commonly, acidosis is present as a sub clinical condition causing lost productivity and unhealthy cattle.

Feed Rebate Iniative

Feed Rebate Initiative

As a long term committed supplier of high quality Stockfeed to the Dairy Industry, Irwin Stockfeeds has introduced a Feed Rebate Initiative to assist farmers during this challenging time of low milk prices.

Irwin Stockfeeds has implemented a 12 month Feed Rebate Initiative commencing 1 July 2009. The initiative will credit farmers accounts quarterly at $10 per tonne for every tonne of mixed feed or pellets purchased during the quarter. The rebate is redeemable as a credit to mixed feed or pellets purchased in the following quarter.

The Feed Rebate Initiative is directly off the bottom line and is not built into the cost of feed.

Irwin Stockfeeds continues to offer high quality feed and excellence in service and is committed to remaining competitively priced in the market place in addition to offering the Feed Rebate Initiative.

For all existing clients meeting the criteria, the rebate will be back-dated to 1 July 2009. For all new farmers that participate in the initiative, the rebate commences upon the first delivery of mixed feed or pellets.

All farmers are welcome to participate in this innovative Feed Rebate Initiative.

Criteria

  • Not to be used in conjunction with any other promotion or discount
  • Rebate only available on mixed feed & pellets
  • Account must be within trading terms to claim the rebate
  • Credit must be used within the following quarter only
  • Approved Credit Application

Irwin Stockfeeds recognises the importance of working with farmers through these challenging conditions by giving back to the industry that has supported us over the past 20 years.
